$1 Giant Toy Fair Takes Over Anchorvale Village This Week

A four-storey neighbourhood mall in Sengkang has become an unlikely magnet for bargain-hunting parents this July school-holiday week. The Family Fun Festival, run by local fair operator The Gift Boutique, has set up a six-day toy sale at Anchorvale Village with headline items priced at $1, and the crowds have been building since doors opened on 15 July.

The fair runs daily from 11am to 9pm through 20 July 2026, which leaves locals four full days to browse the Level 1 Atrium before the pop-up packs up. Word has spread fast across Sengkang, Punggol and Buangkok parent groups, with social posts from the organiser's @familyfunfestivalsingapore account drawing shoppers from further afield too.

What is actually $1

The $1 price tag is genuine, but it applies to selected lines rather than the whole floor. According to the organiser's own listings and cross-referenced deal blogs, the headline $1 items include basic toys and watches. The real crowd-pullers this round are the $1.50 electronic pets, marketed as one per child, and the branded-shoes section which returned for this Sengkang run.

Beyond the dollar bins, the fair carries the usual Family Fun Festival mix:

  • Educational toys and learning sets for preschool and primary ages
  • Stationery and craft kits priced for bulk stocking-up
  • Branded shoes at discounted clearance pricing
  • Pokemon sealed booster boxes dropped on 17 July from 8pm, sold in 36-packet bundles at $250
  • Strollers, bottles and baby essentials from The Gift Boutique's core range

Stock is explicitly while-it-lasts. The organiser's terms note that hot items change weekly and pre-registering on the toyfairsg.com site only unlocks deal alerts, not item reservations. Several parents on the first two days reported the $1.50 electronic pets selling out by early afternoon, so a morning visit is the safer bet for the headline draws.

Why Anchorvale Village works for this

Anchorvale Village sits at 339 Anchorvale Road, a short walk from Farmway LRT station on the Sengkang LRT loop. That makes it reachable in under 15 minutes from Sengkang MRT (NE16) for anyone coming from Hougang, Serangoon or Punggol on the North East Line. The mall itself is a four-storey community complex rather than a full-sized shopping centre, which means the atrium pop-up is easy to find from the entrance and you are not navigating a maze of corridors with a stroller.

Parking is free on Sundays and public holidays in the mall's basement car park, which matters for families driving in from the wider north-east. There is also an HDB car park at Block 329 Anchorvale Street as an overflow option when the mall lots fill up, as they tend to on the closing weekend of these fairs.

Who should bother going

This is a stocking-up fair, not a boutique toy hunt. If you have birthday presents to buy for the second half of the year, classroom rewards to stock, or a child who has been promised a small treat for the school holidays, the dollar bins and discounted educational sets make sense. The Pokemon sealed-box drop on 17 July is the one genuinely collector-grade item on the floor, and it is priced for serious collectors rather than casual buyers.

If you are after a specific branded toy or a particular character line, call ahead or check the organiser's Instagram before making the trip. The fair's strength is volume and low entry pricing, not depth of range on any single brand.
