The next North-East hawker wash is 16 November. Buangkok Hawker Centre upstairs at Sengkang Grand shuts that Monday and Tuesday. Kovan 209 Market and Food Centre, 高文209, stays shut through Friday 20 November. That is the longest wash on this side of the island before Christmas.
NEA's Dates of Hawker Centres Closure dataset, last updated 21 September 2026, sets the quarterly dates. Aljunied-Hougang Town Council publishes the same windows for the two HDB centres it washes, Kovan 209 and Hougang 105. No North-East centre is on NEA's current repairs list. Clementi West, Lorong 7 Toa Payoh, and Changi Village are the ones closed for months. Here the shutters come down for a few days, then the stalls come back.
November is Kovan week
If you treat 209 as the Saturday market-plus-bak-chor-mee run, move it. Monday 16 to Friday 20 November the wet market and the 66 cooked-food stalls are closed for cleaning. The nearest cooked-food fallback that week is Ci Yuan Hawker Centre at 51 Hougang Avenue 9, which stays open until 7 December. Hougang 105, the Hainanese Village Centre on Avenue 1, is also open that week.
Buangkok Hawker Centre at 70 Compassvale Bow closes only 16 and 17 November. It is the 38-stall Kopitiam hall on level 2 of Sengkang Grand, a minute from Buangkok MRT. Miss those two days and it is back. Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market, inside Fernvale Community Club at 21 Sengkang West Avenue, closes Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 November. Twenty-eight cooked-food stalls and the small market section go dark together. Fernvale LRT is the stop.
Serangoon Garden Market already had its quarter. NEA listed Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 October. That one is done. Chomp Chomp, a short walk away on Kensington Park Road, is not in that pair. It waits until December.
December stacks three centres in one week
Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 December, Ci Yuan and One Punggol Hawker Centre close on the same days. Ci Yuan is the 40-stall hall inside Ci Yuan Community Club. One Punggol's 34 stalls sit on level 2 of the hub at 1 Punggol Drive. Hawkermania, the Kimly subsidiary, took that contract on 15 August 2026 after Timbre+Hawkers left. The wash is NEA's, not a management stunt. Sam Kee LRT is the One Punggol stop. Hougang MRT is the one for Ci Yuan if you do not want the walk from the bus interchange.
The messy week is 14 to 18 December. Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre at 339 Anchorvale Road closes Monday 14 and Tuesday 15. Farmway LRT. Chomp Chomp Food Centre at 20 Kensington Park Road closes Monday 14 to Wednesday 16. Thirty-six supper stalls, the satay and wing crowd, gone for three nights. Hougang 105, 51 cooked-food stalls and 120 market stalls, closes Monday 14 to Friday 18. AHTC and NEA both print those five days.
That overlap is the one that actually changes a week of meals. If Chomp Chomp is the Friday night plan, eat there the week before. If 105 is the Lorong Ah Soo breakfast, use Kovan 209 that week. 209 is open again after 20 November. If Anchorvale is the hospital-staff lunch, Compass One across the sports centre is the fallback, not another hawker hall in the same block.
Punggol Coast Hawker Centre at 84 Punggol Way closes Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 December. Forty Kopitiam stalls, Punggol Coast MRT. That is the one that sits on Christmas week. Do not plan a 22 December Coast lunch. Waterway Point and One Punggol are both open those three days. Coast runs 6am to 10pm on ordinary days. The wash does not change those hours after the 23rd.
What this is not
It is not a renovation. NEA's repairs table has no Hougang, Sengkang, or Punggol centre on it this quarter. The stalls come back after the wash. Dates can still move if a town council reprints a notice on site, so read the board on the door the weekend before you go. The dataset is the planning list, not a lock.
I would not treat this as a "hidden gem" roundup. It is a shutter calendar. The useful move is simple. 209 in mid-November. Ci Yuan and One Punggol the first Monday in December. Chomp Chomp, Anchorvale, and 105 the week of the 14th. Coast the 21st. Eat the usual plate the week before each one, or walk to the centre that is still open.
