Sushiro opened at Hougang Mall on 1 October 2026, its first conveyor-belt shop on Hougang Avenue 10. The official store list still spells it "Haogang Mall", but the unit is #02-23/24 at 90 Hougang Avenue 10. Hours are 11am to 10pm daily, last order 9.30pm. Reservations go through the Sushiro app, not a walk-in ticket machine. The opening promo runs only at this outlet through 14 October.
The 1-for-1 calendar, plate by plate
Sushiro Singapore's own Facebook post is the source for the rotating 1-for-1 prices. Two pieces land on the same plate. The discount is 50% off the usual combined price, before GST and service charge.

- 3 to 4 October: Big-cut salmon belly with ikura, $3.90++ for two (usual $7.80++)

- 8 to 9 October: Medium fatty tuna, $3.90++ for two (usual $7.80++)
- 10 to 11 October: Big red shrimp, $2.30++ for two (usual $4.60++)
- 12 to 14 October: Big-cut fresh salmon, $2.90++ for two (usual $5.80++)
If you only go once, pick the date that matches the fish you actually want. Tuna sits at the start of the window. Salmon and shrimp are cheaper later. The eel days sit in the middle of the first week, which is also when Hougang Mall dinner queues usually peak.
The free-flow drinks bar and green tea stay at $1.50++ for the full 1 to 14 October run, usual $3.00++. That is the part of the promo that does not rotate. Coca-Cola, Sprite, iced tea, matcha, and Nestle iced tea appear on the opening poster. Ask at the counter what is on tap that night, because the poster is marketing, not a legal drinks list.
Opening-day lucky dip, and the kids shout
1 October only: spend at least $50 and you get a sure-win lucky dip. The Facebook list of prizes is a $10 voucher, a drinks-bar coupon, limited-edition Dakkosushi merchandise, and a KitKat neck pillow. Terms sit with the store. Do not treat any of those as guaranteed stock by the second week of October.
Staff wearing an "I love Sushiro" sash will hand free Dakkosushi merchandise to children who shout the line. That is a door gimmick, not a menu item. It is also the only kids' mechanic the brand published for this opening.
App reservations opened on 24 September. If you skip the app, expect the same queue behaviour as Waterway Point on a weekend. Hougang Mall is smaller than Waterway Point, and this floor already feeds the food cluster around the atrium. A 6pm walk-in on a Saturday will cost you time.
Why this outlet matters in the northeast
Sushiro already trades at Waterway Point in Punggol. Hougang Mall is the second northeast stop, and it sits on the same North East Line, one station south of Kovan and two from Serangoon. For people in Hougang, Buangkok, and Kovan, this is a shorter trip than Punggol Central. The mall itself is in a $51 million upgrade. Some floors still look like a worksite. The sushi shop is on level 2, not in the basement food court, so you are not mixing conveyor plates with the old kopitiam trays.
The brand is Japan's volume kaiten chain, not an omakase counter. Rice is cooked to a house vinegar recipe, plates are IC-chipped, and the menu runs past 100 items on a normal day. Opening specials do not replace the regular board. If the 1-for-1 plate is sold out, you still pay the usual plate colours. Last order is 9.30pm. After 14 October the $1.50++ drinks deal ends unless the store extends it, and the official site has not promised that.
Hougang MRT (NE14) is the stop. The mall is 90 Hougang Avenue 10, next to Hougang Central. From the station, follow the mall link rather than crossing the bus interchange in the rain. Parking is the Hougang Mall carpark. If you already have a Sushiro loyalty stamp card from Waterway Point, bring it. The Facebook post told diners to get the stamp card ready for this opening.
